“You captivated me with every chapter. Can I just say, that coming from the viewpoint of a horror fiction fan, the most refreshing thing about Bleeder is that you never shied away from anything. Despite the fact this is geared more towards a teen reader, the fact you always weave in the horror aspect is refreshing and sets this apart from every other contemporary teen vamp fic out there. There is a romance, sure, but this is no wishy washy sparkly effort, it’s gritty and real and heart-wrenching and gut-churning. … I couldn’t get over the sadness that tinged the whole novel and I don’t mean that in a bad way. If I came away and felt nothing, then you would not have succeeded. But I just felt this overwhelming sense of Mills’ loneliness, that she always knew the outcome would not be a happy ending. Also I love how this is her rite of passage, we see her grow, strengthen and mature during the course of the book and I just know whatever happens next in her journey, it’s going to be epic.
